Experience is often a determining factor when it comes to achieving success in a career. This is especially true in journalism and media. Time is vessel for experience. It took time for me to establish how to better navigate this field, and in more time my skills will continue to improve and develop. Gaining experience is the opportunity to work and develop skills in a field I'm passionate about. I was inspired to become a journalist to give a voice to topics, people and issues that would otherwise not have a voice. When I initially found my calling, I didn't take full advantage of my power to create opportunities to write and gain experience. My goal now is to not only become the best storyteller I can be, but to tap into all my skills and potential. January 2018 was the start of a new beginning and elevation.
